The Society for the Advancement of American Philosophy plans to host at least two sessions at the World Congress of Philosophy . The theme of the Congress is "Philosophy as Inquiry and Way of Life"--perfect for American philosophy. Although the programs for SAAP's sessions are not due until October 1, 2012, applications to host sessions are due June 1, 2012.
Therefore, in order to determine the number of SAAP members interested in participating in SAAP's sessions at the Congress, *those who are interested and highly likely to be able to attend the Congress are asked to email Ken Stikkers by May 20, with the tentative topics for their proposed presentations: <kstikker@siu.edu>. *Priority will be given to those with topics that most directly address the Congress's theme.
SAAP members are also encouraged to submit papers individually. The deadline for submissions is October 1, 2012. For additional information on the Congress, including the list of sections for contributed papers, go to: http://www.wcp2013.gr/files/items/6/628/efe_brochure_18x26_en.pdf.
