Now that I've read it carefully, it's a really great piece. Not only for its astute analysis, but even as an outsider to that area of continental, it reveals to me so much background that I had missed in my discusses with speculative realists. I hadn't realized that vitalism, if I am getting it right, is part of the core project. Vitalism is not the same thing as organicism, which lingers in my own, as the latter is more about mereology than ontology.
